　今回の60代女子旅では、ロンドン行きはドーハ乗り換え。Youtubeで調べていたら、ドーハの空港内の水は高いらしい。また、ロンドンに着いても、毎日水を調達する予定。それが結構めんどくさいのも経験済み。ならば、いっそ、「浄水器付きの水筒持ってけば？」と思い、調べてみました。

Then, I thought, “Why don’t I just bring a water bottle with a water purifier?” So, I decided to check it out.

　探したら、ありました。浄水器付き水筒。カートリッジで水を浄化するとのこと。これを使えば、飛行機に乗る前の手荷物検査では、中をカラにしておいて通過。その後、空港内にある給水器でお水を入れる。そのまま、飛行機に搭乗。最初に飲み物が出てくる前に喉を潤したい場合も安心。

　更にロンドンのホテルの部屋の水を一度沸かし、これに入れて持ち歩いていた方のレビューも見つけた。それなら、ロンドンでも使える。と思い、早速注文。

　実際に水を入れて飲んでみます。女子としては、上を向いてペットボトルのガブ飲みは、いささか格好が悪いと思われる方にはコップもついております。コップを利用する場合は、「チュー」とボトルの中程を押して水を入れて飲みます。ガブ飲みの場合は、マウスピースのところから「チュー」と吸う形で飲むことができます。MicroDiscのなかを水が通過するときに、ろ過される仕組みです。普通の水という感じです。私はあまり水にうるさくないので、違いがわかりませんがレビューにはお茶やご飯が美味しくいただけるとのコメントを読みました。カルシウムやマグネシウムなどのミネラル分は浄水フィルターを通過してそのまま残るそうです。煮沸した水は、必ずその日に飲むようにしました。保存がききません。

ブリタのMicroDiscは国ごとに調整されているようなので、日本で購入した場合は、日本の軟水仕様ですが、そこは納得して購入しました。

使ってみてわかったこと　What I’ve learned from using it.

羽田空港はトイレの入り口付近には給水器がありました。また、ドーハ空港やヒースロー空港にも給水器はありました。ですので、だいたいどこでもお水を得ることができました。また、人が口をつけたかもしれないウオーターサーバーから水を入れたとしても、浄水してくれのだから、という安心感がありました。乗り換え時の水の手配は案外面倒ですので、この点でも助かりました。ちなみにドーハのペットボトルの水は9カタール（日本円で1カタール・リヤルは約43.26円）でした。

ホテルに着いたら、ボトルの中の水を捨てて乾かしていました。また、MicroDiscは毎日陶器のカップに入れて、ポットでお湯を沸かして注ぎ、熱湯消毒していました。取扱説明書には週に一度で良いとありましたが、念の為、私はそのようにして使いました。

空港のトイレで水を捨てる際に注意したいこと。それは、MicroDiscを落とさないことです！なんと私は、トイレの床に落としてしまったんです。幸い、最後のフライト前でしたので、それ以降は使わないで良かったのですが。

Be careful when dumping water in airport toilets. That is, don’t drop your MicroDisc! I dropped mine on the floor of the toilet. Fortunately, it was before my last flight, so I didn’t have to use it after that.

上の写真のマウスピースとMicroDiscを装着した右の部分を全部持って取り外してください。固くて、つい、上のマウスピース部分をだけを持ってもちあげた場合、下の写真のように、MicroDiscが固定されていない状態となり、MicroDiscが滑り落ちます。あまりにも簡単に滑り出ますので、開けるときは気をつけて下さいね。

Remove the mouthpiece and MicroDisc by holding the entire right part where the MicroDisc is attached, as shown in the photo above. If you lift up only the upper part of the mouthpiece, the MicroDisc will not be secured and will slide out, as shown in the photo below. It slides out too easily, so please be careful when you open it.

更に、ストラップが固定されていないので、こちらも落とさないように気をつけて下さい。このストラップは、文字部分を上にしないと水が漏れます。水漏れに関しては、しっかり締めること。ゆるいと、漏れてきます。私は、一応、ハンドタオルに巻いて、ジッパ―袋（大）に入れてました。

いろいろ書きましたが、この水筒は、使えます。特に、飛行機の乗り降りには大変便利で経済的です。家から空港に行く際も、家の水道水で持っていけば、飲み残しても気にせず検査前に捨てられますし、その後も同様です。私にとっては、役に立つ水筒でした。

ロンドンでは、スーパーで500mlの水が1.2ポンドぐらいでしたからペットボトルを買わなくて済んだので、かなりの節約になりました。しかし、一方で、なぜか日本から持っていった水が飲みたくなって、こちらも飲みました。2本持参していました。街歩きの際は、少しかさばるので、大きめのポーチにいれるか、リュックにいれるか、エコバックに入れると良いと思います。私は、取られても良いものしか入れないリュックサックに入れて持ち歩きました。
