After a tasty breakfast to cheer you up, head for Daimonzaka on the Kumano Kodo trail. There is a parking lot at the entrance to Daimonzaka. There are no convenience stores around the parking lot. There are restrooms (Western and Japanese style).

平らなところからは、コンクリートで舗装された急な道と階段です。階段自体が斜めになっていたので、私は注意して上り下りしました。

このあと、急な石段を下り（車の通る道でも下れます）、那智の滝に向かいます。HPによると、正式には那智御滝（世界遺産・国指定名勝）と熊野那智大社別宮飛龍神社に分けられるようですが、飛龍神社の社殿はありません。授与所で拝観料を払い、滝を見に行くことができます。
飛瀧神社では、御瀧そのものをこの地に大己貴神が現れた御神体としてお祀りしています。
そのため、飛瀧神社には神様をお祀りする社はなく、直接、那智御瀧を拝礼しております。
飛瀧神社の歴史は非常に永く、元々那智山では飛瀧神社の場所で御瀧の神様と熊野の神々がお祀りされており、仁徳天皇５年(317)の年に熊野那智大社が造営され現在の位置に遷ったと伝わっております。

There was a hand towel for the 20th anniversary of the World Heritage registration at the awarding ceremony, so I paid 1,000 yen for it.
