　今日は、猿田彦神社さんにお参りに来ました。参拝後は、伊勢神宮のおはらいまち通りへ向かいます。おはらい町通りをおかげ横町まで伊勢神宮（内宮）方面へ進みます。赤福本店の向かい側からおかげ横丁にはいります。広場のようなところを左へ曲がると突き当たりが「豚捨」。

Today, We came to visit the Sarutahiko Shrine. After visiting the shrine, we will head for the OHARAIMACHI DORI street of Ise Jingu Shrine. Proceeding along OHARAIMACHI DORI toward OKAGE YOKOCHOU. You will enter OKAGE YOKOCHOU across from AKAFUKU HONTEN. Turn left at the plaza-like area and you will find “BUTASUTE” at the end of the street.

私は牛肉しか使わないから、「豚捨」という屋号なのだと思っていましたが、意外にも「豚屋の捨吉」さんだったとは。調べてみたら、店のHPにはこんな記述が。

I thought the store name was “Butasute ” because this restaurant only use beef, but I was surprised that the name of the restaurant came from the name of the owner. I looked it up and found the following description on the restaurant’s website.

豚捨の歴史 History of “BUTASUTE”

明治42年11月、初代森捨吉(すてきち)により現在の伊勢市大世古に創業。

Founded in November 1909 by Sutekichi Mori I in present-day Oseko, Ise City.

豚捨の由来 Origin of “BUTASUTE”

その昔、捨吉は養豚養鶏業を営んでおり「豚屋の捨吉」と呼ばれていたところ、それがいつのまにか「豚捨(ぶたすて)」へと変化し、そのまま屋号へと相成りました。

しかしながらパンフレットなどにも掲載されている通り、逸話もございまして…

この店の牛肉があまりにもうまいから「豚なんて捨てちまえ！」

と客が豚肉を投げ捨てた。

なんていうエピソードも残っております。

In the old days, Sutekichi was a pig and poultry farmer and was called “Sutekichi the Pig Shop,” which somehow changed to “Butasute” and became the trade name.

However, as you can read in the pamphlet, there is an anecdote…

The beef at this restaurant was so good that a customer threw away the pork.

And a customer threw away the pork.

我が家が「豚捨」によるときは､コロッケを買うか、牛丼を食べるか。本日は家族が牛丼を食すことに。

When my family goes to “BUTASUTE”, we either buy croquettes or have a beef bowl. Today, my family decided to have a beef bowl.

味がしっかり付いていて、甘めの味付け。牛肉が柔らかくておいしい！お勧めです！お店の中で､一休みできるのも､参拝で歩き疲れた体に優しいですよ。

Well seasoned and sweetened. The beef is tender and delicious! Highly recommended! You can take a break inside the restaurant, which is also kind to your body after a tiring walk during the visit to the shrine.

食後は、少し歩いて赤福ぜんざいを食べよう After lunch, take a short walk and enjoy Akafuku Zenzai (sweet red bean soup)!

食後はまた、おはらい町通りを戻る形で北へ歩き、赤福　五十鈴川店へ向かいます。今の季節は、赤福ぜんざい。夏は赤福氷が食べられます。

After lunch, walk north again, returning along Oharaicho Street, to Akafuku Isuzugawa Store. In the current season, Akafuku Zenzai is served. In summer, Akafuku ice is available.
